About Me

Dear guests.

tour guide Jana Malschewski

I would like to introduce myself on this page.

I was born in Dresden and lived almost all my life in this beautiful city also called „Florence of the Elbe“.

I only left for two longer trips. After I finished high school I went to the U.S. to work there as an AuPair (live-in nanny) for one year. I improved my English language skills and explored not only New Orleans and its surroundings with „my“ children. Still today I visit my American family regularly.

Back in Germany in 1998 I started studying Transport Economics at the Technical University Dresden. Two of my majors were Tourism and English.I got introduced to the tourism branch in Dresden quickly. So I worked for different travel agencies, tour operators and the official tourism board of Dresden.

In the middle of my studies I took a half year break to go to Louisiana again. I was accepted for an internship at the Louisiana Office of Tourism and proud to work for the Welcome Centers of this state.

After I finished university I worked for a local destination management company which was quite an exciting job. There I also came up with the idea becoming a full-time tour guide for Dresden and Saxony. I really enjoy to work with visitors from all over the world and would like to show my wonderful town to even more.

Besides all that I have been working as a volunteer at a canoe club „Verein Kanusport Dresden e.V.“ for many years already. One of my tasks is to coach the youngest ones in flat-water racing.

Dear visitors of Dresden and dear (new) Dresdeners,

for some years now, I have been studying a lot about the history of the city of „arts and culture“. I discovered many interesting facts I did not know before.

Therefore I would love to share this and that with you during my city tours. On foot, by coach or paddle steamer or a little more sportive – biking along or canoeing on the Elbe River.
Just guided tours – the way you like it.

Yours truly,

Jana Malschewski
